.Monaco Mousetrap Car Race - Mark your diaries ! May, 13 2024

This unique event, launched in Monaco in 2014 by the engineer Marco Casiraghi, celebrates the fusion of Technical Innovation, Ecological Engineering and Creativity;

The idea is to raise young people's awareness of science and its application to everyday objects, and to share a vision of the future where technology and sustainability go hand in hand. 

The concept of this competition is simple but captivating:

To design little cars powered only by the energy of a spring-loaded mousetrap mechanism, hence the name "Mousetrap Car".

Where innovation meets speed!  The aim was to test the stamina of the little vehicles and measure the speed and maximum distance covered by the Mousetrap Cars as they raced along a new 12-metre straight track. 

Set up your own racing team! Each team, made up of young students (girls and boys) aged between 14 and 18 from all over the world, accompanied by their teachers, fascinated by the idea of developing their skills through this "Monaco Mousetrap Car Grand Prix" challenge, compete in ingenuity to build cars that are both fast and environmentally friendly, demonstrating the energy efficiency of their creations.

The Monaco Mousetrap Car Race highlights the creativity and talent of science, engineering and technology students.

It's a celebration of ecological engineering and technical innovation.

The entrants may be tomorrow’s engineers.

Placed under the High Patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and supported by the Principality's Department of National Education and the high schools of the participating students;

Jointly organised by the Automobile Club de Monaco, Engeco S.A.M and Riva at the end of the 14th Monaco Historic Grand Prix, to be held on the weekend of 10 to 12 May 2024.

The "Monaco Mousetrap Car Race 2024" will take place in the Riva Tunnel on Quai Antoine 1er on 13 May 2024.

Spectators will have the chance to discover some impressive innovations, support brilliant minds and experience a thrilling day devoted to science and speed.
